I participated in the “Herrenhäuser Konferenz – Big Data in a Transdisciplinary Perspective” (#hkBigData) hosted by the Volkswagen Stiftung: I gained insights into the recent developments and the future perspectives of Big Data. Thereby, my personal motivation was fortified to take part in moving this field from its hype peak to a plateau of productivity. As a biomedical scientist with expertise in pharmacology and skills in information technologies, my profile fits well with working in the cross-section of those domains and with occupying a key role in an interdisciplinary team. As a scientific communicator, I reported from the event by microblogging and tried to sum up key statements as sketch notes.
